Okay, that may seem harsh as a title to some educators or district personnel, but, hear me out!
My daughter has every right to a good education, and by not providing full transportation for her to school and back, they are effectively putting her back in public school where she will not receive the education and help that she needs. Although my daughter is deaf, she is also physically challenged because of SPD. When we moved her out of the preschool program at the local elementary, we did so because of the recommendations of USDB (Utah School for the Deaf & Blind) and because our school district was not doing their job to MAKE sure that my child was getting the help she needed. For seven months my daughter was in preschool, and the district did not do what was agreed upon in the IEP.
Budget cuts or no budget cuts…
Have I heard anything from my school district? No, not yet, but that isn’t surprising.
