We all it can be frustrating when we lose the capability to do things that we used to do and worse become dependent on others, Some times we feel that it cant get worse and get depressed and feel helpless, these are a few emotions that we go though when we are in a wheelchair.

But by using a lightweight wheelchair we will begin to live a normal life where the simple tasks can be completed alone without the assistance of others. And with the simple fact of the reduced weights we can begin to integrate in to the system.

With lightweight wheelchairs there are many advantages compared to the heavier and older style of wheelchairs. As the wheelchair is light and they don’t weigh must over 20lbs which is light considered to others. So the wheelchair user can enjoy the freedom and ease of movement due to weight savings.

Lightweight wheelchairs have the advantage that they can still use batteries and as they are so light are ideal for patients or users that are generally weak and find it hard to move them around.

Lightweight wheelchairs are generally a specialist wheelchair and come battery operated, the wheelchair will the end user greater mobility with little or minimum effort.

Manual wheelchair can be sometimes be very awkward because of the weight. Luckily, lightweight wheelchairs are already out in the market for a while. Most of this kind of wheelchair are coded as K0004 (a Medicare code) which lessens the cost as compared to a regular manual wheelchair.

Lightweight wheelchairs are cheap compared to others and when choosing your next wheelchair consider its actual function. Compare the accessories that come with the wheelchair as these can greatly help the user in future.

Most of the lightweight wheelchair weighs 29 to 33 pounds. This is appropriate for moving and for daily use but others can weigh far less.

Lightweight wheelchair parts are easy changeable as they are normally detachable such as back and arm rests and the seat itself.

See if your wheelchair has changeable tires, preferably don’t buy wheelchairs that require the whole wheel to be removed as this can be trouble some.
